High School Lacrosse

High school lacrosse has registered players from Jefferson High School, Washington High School and local private high schools. Additionally, the Wild welcomes homeschooled players who are Jefferson County residents or who are ineligible to play for their local WV public high school. Teams consist of players in the 9th-12th grades who maintain a 2.0 GPA.

The Wild play in the West Virginia Scholastic Lacrosse Association (WVSLA) across the state of WV in addition to playing out of conference games in MD, PA or VA. The Wild also are part of the Appalachian States Lacrosse Conference (ASLC) playing the Eastern Panhandle of WV teams in addition to other teams along I-81.

The high school teams typically practice 3-5 days per week during the season which runs from mid-February through mid-May. Teams play between 12-18 in-season games in an effort to qualify for league playoffs. Head coaches are at least level 1 certified by USA Lacrosse. Registration begins in November and fee includes the player's first uniform. A current USA Lacrosse membership and sports physical are required. Physicals must have been completed after May 1 and can be the same one used for fall or winter school sports.
